I have trouble starting and staying on a diet. Why? |
Many times we are our own worst enemies. We tell ourselves why we
shouldn't, can't and won't lose weight. We use the excuses that we're going on vacation, we have a party to go to,
it's the weekend or I'll start tomorrow. These are just that-- excuses, reasons to justify hanging onto an unhealthy way of being. Brainwash yourself for all the reasons why you SHOULD lose weight. Acknowledge how good
you look, how you'll look younger, have more energy, be healthier, live longer, have greater self-esteem and be the person you want to be. Just do it. Start small with changes. Drink more water every day, eat more fruits and vegetables and cut back on sugar drinks, dairy products, and fats. Doing this will make significant changes in the way you look and feel. |

I never seem to achieve my goals athletically; how can I get to the next level, whether it's overall physical conditioning or winning a trophy? |
Athletic performance has three parts: physical preparation, technical skill and psychological readiness. If any of these three areas are neglected, performance will decline, but it is the psychological element that is often overlooked. There is little to separate the most successful athletes in terms of physical preparation and technical skill. But when it comes down to the core beliefs athletes hold regarding their capacity to be successful and even thrive amidst adversity, there is a significant distance between the leaders of the pack and the rest. Learning to develop the mental and emotional techniques to overcome obstacles to excellence may provide the crucial element to achieving your goals and reaching your next level, personally, professionally and athletically. |

Why does my back or neck keep hurting? I've taken my doctor's prescriptions, gone to physical therapy and had hot packs, massage and electrical therapy. |
All of those administrations are appropriate in certain instances. However, if you have joints that are out of place in your back, neck or even an arm or leg, they will continue to cause pain, inflammation and muscle spasms. All of the pills in the world will not move a bone back into
it's proper position, nor will hot packs or electrical therapies. Manipulation of the spine has been proven to restore normal motion to joints while at the same time inhibiting pain, increasing circulation, and decreasing or eliminating abnormal muscle contractions. You also may have developed an abnormal pattern of muscle tension along the spine and should see a chiropractor who can manipulate and can prescribe a regimen of rehabilitative exercises and
stretches. |

What are the advantages of taking Human Growth Hormone (HGH) while working out? |
As we age, our bodies deplete natural hormones such as HGH. At 30 years old, on average, we no longer have the energy that we had when we were younger. The rate of aging differs with our state of health, as well as genetic endowment, but our bodies eventually decline in their ability to make HGH. To find out if you need HGH, a
medical evaluation, including blood work, is necessary by a qualified medical doctor. With HGH, an overall improvement is seen with lean body mass, heart health, energy, fat loss, skin tone (including the face) and sleep pattern in those who are deficient. HGH is a great way to get started in
any exercise program, especially if you've been inactive. |

A common soccer injury is lower leg pain (foot, ankle, shin). Why is this? What can be done about it? |
Lower leg pain can be caused by
overtraining, poor flexibility or improper foot wear. Overtraining occurs when an activity is done repetitively without enough rest or variety, not allowing for proper recooperation of stressed tissue. Poor flexibility can place increased stress on the bones and joints with the same results as
overtraining. Improper foot wear is common because the most popular soccer shoes are also the least shock
absorbant. Couple this with rock hard surfaces and injuries can be unavoidable. The best way to remedy these situations is with proper rest, training techniques and variation (cross training for fitness). Warm up and cool down emphasizing light activity and flexibility. Wear turf style soccer shoes, saving molded cleats for raining
conditions. |

Can I continue to recover from an injury even after I am finished with my prescribed physica therapy? |
Physical therapists are specialized in helping you to recover 60-80% of your strength and movement after an injury or surgery. The initial recovery takes much patience and consistency, yet it will be at a faster rate than the last 20% to full recovery, which you are expected to achieve on your own, after release by your physical therapist. At this point a personal trainer can help you with that slow rate recovery through emotional and psychological motivation. A one-on-one personal trainer will develop an appropriate muscular exercise regimen designed to regain the endurance, strength and flexibility of the muscle or joint faster than recovering on your own. consultation. |
