Anti-Aging, Prevention, and Wellness

Women's health issues, such as premenstrual syndrome (PMS), pregnancy, menopause, osteoporosis, and heart disease, do not always receive the attention they deserve with respect to disease prevention. In the past, it has not been widely appreciated that vitamin, minerals, antioxidants, and other nutrient deficiencies are often the underlying factor in the development of symptoms or adverse outcomes associated with these conditions, i.e.:

- The symptoms of PMS have been associated with vitamin B6 and the mineral magnesium deficiencies.

- During pregnancy, the strenuous nutritional demands of the growing fetus represent a nutritionally perilous state for both mother and child. Deficiencies of folic acid, biotin, thiamin, and antioxidants are prevalent in pregnant women and have been associated with adverse consequences for fetal development.

- Menopause is a time when many women are subject to higher rates of bone loss, cardiovascular disease, and cancer, especially breast cancer than before menopause. This increase often coincides with reduced intake of nutrients through decreased absorptive efficiency, decreased appetite, and reduced levels of activity. The role of B Vitamin intake, especially of folic acid, vitamin B2 and vitamin B6, has evolved from the prevention of anemia to the prevention of heart disease and stroke, and, more recently, to the prevention of cancer. Since vitamin deficiencies, especially those that occur with aging, are so prevalent, a postmenopausal health maintenance program should include measurement of functional levels of B vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

- It is well known that sufficient calcium and vitamin D intake is critical to the prevention of osteoporosis, but adequate magnesium and zinc levels can be equally as important.

Nutrient status is a vital foundation of health. Each nutrient plays an individual role in promoting the optimal function of our cells. When some of those cells do not function at their best, the foundation of our health is compromised. SpectraCell Laboratories, Inc. offers specialized profiles that will test you for vitamins, minerals and antioxidants deficiencies. In fact, we go one step further. We measure the intracellular function of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and other essential nutrients within your white blood cells (lymphocytes) through our patented testing, FIA(TM) (functional intracellular analysis). The FIA(TM) testing is more comprehensive and gives an individual a broader picture of their nutritional status than traditional measurement of vitamins and minerals through testing of blood.

Individuals derive significant benefits from SpectraCell's testing. Measuring and correcting vitamin deficiencies are essential for those who are concerned with maintaining wellness. SpectraCell can provide you with an important baseline to identify those deficiencies that can directly or indirectly affect health conditions. Noting nutritional risk factors and treating their causes can contribute to the arrest or prevention of many degenerative disease conditions.

No matter what a woman's health concern is, SpectraCell can design a panel to assess a woman's particular nutritional need. These results can then be used to design an individualized nutritional program to address current health problems or prevent health problems before they arise.

Women, as a group, have very special nutritional needs, however, each woman has her own individual nutritional requirements.

SpectraCell Laboratories offers a patented test that can actually assess your vitamin, mineral and antioxidant deficiencies on the cellular level - where it really counts. This unique test provides you individualized results to determine what your body really needs and allows you to take corrective action toward becoming the healthiest you can be.

Certifications: SpectraCell is a CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments)-accredited clinical testing laboratory by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
